Durchgang is a site specific room-installation. Developed especially for Offene Werkstatt – FLUSS at Schloss Wolkersdorf it transforms one of the Marek Rooms of Schloss Wolkersdorf into a three-dimensional stage set for an abstract play about time, rhythm and perception.
Through the interplay of abstract minimalist paintings, a spatial composition of pink neon tape and sculptural light installation, the historic architecture of the castle is transformed into a performative environment. Rotating elements move at different rhythms, generating a continuous cycle—an endless movement without beginning or end.
The installation invites viewers to turn their attention away from the constant flow of images and the accelerating pace of everyday life. Instead, it opens up a space for concentration, presence and the conscious experience of time—between permanence and ephemerality.
Visitors are invited to wind the metronome, take a seat, and spend as much time as necessary to allow reflection and thought to emerge.
Materials: Wall fresco (acrylic); works on paper (oil, pencil, pigment powder and acrylic) in various dimensions; pink neon tape; three electric mirror-ball motors; rotating stage; wooden chairs; metronome; colour gel composition; and PAR-16 lights.
